Facilities Department cares for all aspects of the 130 acres and 44 buildings comprising the bulk of Talladega College's real estate. There are 6 major academic buildings, 18 multi-purpose & administrative buildings, 7 residence halls, 12 residential & rental houses and an 8 unit apartment complex.

Over the last couple of years improvements such as heating/air conditioning and new roofing have been made to 6 major buildings. Swayne Hall, our original building, has had a complete restoration of its exterior with the help of the US Department of Interior and many generous contributors. Interior restoration is still in progress. Several academic and administrative buildings have been remodeled and redecorated. Deforest Chapel has a new roof, stage and PA System, Callahan Gym has a new roof, floor and ceiling and HVAC, Silsby Hall has new HVAC and Shores Hall has new boiler, Ish Hall has a new boiler and holding tanks. Many antique and vintage items have been taken from storage and put to use in numerous buildings enhancing the historic ambiance of the campus. Out door areas have been improved with new flower beds, better signage and gathering places for students.

Talladega College has become an energy partner with the US Dept. of Energy's Rebuild America" program. Assistance has been given from the Alabama Energy Office in the form of a grant to study energy use and efficiency issues. The study will be implemented over the next year in an effort to conserve natural resources and lower our utility costs.
