Five Takeaways from the Spring State of the College Press Briefing

On April 3, Talladega College held a press briefing to provide updates on the progress that the College has made since its September 2024 press conference. Rica Lewis-Payton ‘81, chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough, interim president, and Bill Bynum, CEO of Hope Enterprise Corporation/Hope Credit Union, spoke about steps that have been taken to improve the college's financial health.

Talladega College Designated a Voter-Friendly Campus by NASPA and Campus Vote Project

Talladega College was named a Voter Friendly Campus, one of 272 campuses in 39 states and the District of Columbia by Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Talladega Students Participate in Immersive Research Trip to Belize

Four Talladega students took advantage of a unique research trip to Belize to study cultural and environmental sites. Students from the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics–Love Jean, Leonard Richardson, Athaliah Townsend, and Dewinel Vazquez–were selected to travel with Dr. Andy Coleman, chair and an associate professor in the Biology Department, to participate in an immersive experience, exploring the rich cultural and ecological tapestry of the Central American country.

Alabama State Department of Education Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Autumm Jeter ‘01, to Deliver Keynote Address at 2025 Honors Convocation

Dr. Autumm Jeter, a 2001 graduate of Talladega College and the assistant superintendent for support services for the Alabama State Department of Education, will deliver the keynote address at the annual Honors Convocation on April 3, 2025 in DeForest Chapel. The event is held to recognize Talladega College students for their outstanding academic performance, leadership and service to the college community.
