Talladega College is latest school to be named a Rooms To Go Reading for Excellence Center. Two years ago, Rooms To Go established Reading for Excellence Centers through providing in-kind furniture and accessories to college and universities in their markets.

“Talladega College’s partnership with Rooms To Go, allowed us to think more innovatively about our existing spaces. The Rooms To Go Reading for Excellence Centers brings learning outside the walls of the classroom. We appreciate this wonderful partnership with Rooms To Go. I know it will make a difference for our students,” said Dr. Billy C. Hawkins, President, Talladega College.

Talladega College Reading for Excellence Centers will open in two honor dormitories and the Savery library. While all students will benefit from the centers, the centers create spaces where Presidential Honors Program can meet and study. The Presidential Honors Program was established a year ago for students who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and display strong character. The honor students not only have high academic standards, but participate in community service activities throughout the year.

Talladega College will dedicate the Reading for Excellence Centers on Thursday, June 19th. The Reading for Excellence Centers will officially open when school reopens in August. The partnership between the school and company was facilitated by Dr. Frankie Jones, CEO of Phoenix One Enterprises, Inc.
